Join us for an evening of delicious food and a fascinating presentation all about the Spring Equinox at Eagle Butte Observatory.
The tour begins at The Clubhouse at Paradise Valley, where guests are welcomed with an appetizer of Roasted Red Pepper Hummus with Fresh Local Veggies and Grilled Garlic Naan. Following is the choice of main course:
1. Meatloaf with Red Wine Demi Glaze, Roasted Potatoes and Vegetables
2. Italian Sausage Bolognese with Garlic Toast
3. Grilled Chicken with a Creamy Sundried Tomato, Spinach and Artichoke sauce, Rice Pilaf and Roasted Vegetables.
For dessert, guests are treated with the choice of chocolate cake or berry cheesecake.
From The Clubhouse, guests will be transported to the Eagle Butte Observatory to enjoy a conversational presentation about the Spring Equinox.
At the Spring Equinox the earth experiences equal day and night with the sun rising in the east and setting in the west - this day marks the official end of winter and the beginning of spring! Every year the earth takes us on an annual journey around the sun that is about a 940 million kilometer trip with the equinox being one of our destination stops.
Amateur astronomer Rod DeVries will share his knowledge throughout the night about the Equinox and the treasures found in the March night sky.
Please arrive at the Clubhouse at Paradise Valley at 5:45pm. Transportation is provided to and from the observatory - Guests are welcome to leave vehicles at the parking lot at Paradise Valley. The tour will return to Paradise Valley following the presentation at Eagle Butte Observatory, at approximately 10pm.
