A Taste of Indigenous Canada

Celebrate and learn about Indigenous culture at A Taste of Indigenous Canada on Sunday, April 7 2024 from 12 to 5 pm at the Knottwood Community Centre (449 Knottwood Rd W NW).

Shop at the Indigenous artisans market, enjoy samples of traditional food and engage in interactive learning exploring Indigenous culture. Experience the rhythm, singing and stories of Chubby Cree and immerse yourself in a Powwow 101 Workshop complete with a round dance led by Sissy Thiessen Kootenayoo of Wase Saba (Black Bear) Experiences.

Admission is $20 in advance, $25 on the day, $5 for kids under 12. and $45 for groups of 2 adults and 2 kids. Market-only entry is by donation. Volunteers are also required. Presented by True North Aid in partnership with the Knottwood Community League.
