Presented by Showtime Legacy Theatre Presented by Showtime Legacy Theatre Company & Showtime Productions

A Taste of Black Theatre II is not just a continuation β€” it’s an evolution. This electrifying stage experience returns with deeper storytelling, richer emotion, and an even more powerful celebration of Black voices that have shaped the soul of American theatre.

πŸ—“οΈ Date: April 18, 2026
πŸ•‘ Showtimes: 6:00pm
πŸ“ Venue: Chapman Cultural Center 200 E. St. John St. Spartanburg, SC

ABOUT THE SHOW
A Taste of Black Theatre II builds on the unforgettable foundation of its predecessor, expanding the journey through the works and influence of legendary playwright August Wilson while introducing new layers of storytelling, movement, and poetic expression.

This dynamic production weaves together powerful scenes, monologues, and original material that explore legacy, identity, love, struggle, and triumph across generations. It’s not just a reflection of the past β€” it’s a bold conversation with the present.

At the heart of the story is a new generation grappling with what it means to inherit history while carving out their own voice. Through vivid characters and emotionally charged performances, the audience is pulled into a living, breathing timeline of Black life β€” raw, honest, and unapologetically real.

🎢 With a soundtrack rooted in gospel, blues, spoken word, and contemporary rhythm, this production transforms the stage into a space where culture is felt as much as it is seen.

πŸ”₯ This is more than theatre. This is legacy in motion.
