After the disappearance of his predecessor, a New York publisher sends a young agent (Alden Ehrenreich) to Switzerland in one final attempt to persuade the renowned writer Patricia Highsmith (Oscar-winner Helen Mirren), author of The Talented Mr. Ripley, to write one final installment of the Ripley anthology. But as the enigmatic Highsmith uses the temptation of success to draw the agent into a cunningly elaborate plot, she may discover that she is not the only mysterious player in her smoldering game of cat-and-mouse.
