His source material is Penderecki’s nail-biting Polymorphia – so eerie it was hand-picked for cinema’s most frightening soundtracks including The Exorcist and The Shining.
You’ll hear its essence in Greenwood’s take, which is a little less terrifying and features beats reminiscent of his Radiohead days. Our program also includes Strauss’ quaint Symphony for Winds, though behind its innocent charm was a composer living through the perils of war.
