A Special Sunday at Good Samaritan: Faith, Hope, and the Power of Love in Action

We are delighted to welcome the Rev. Becca Stevens as our guest preacher on Sunday, November 8!
An Episcopal priest, author, social entrepreneur, and inspiring advocate for justice and healing, Rev. Becca is the founder of Thistle Farms in Nashville, Tennessee. What began 30 years ago as a ministry offering hope and healing to women survivors of trafficking, prostitution, and addiction has grown into a global movement rooted in the transformative power of love.
Through her remarkable work, Rev. Becca continues to challenge social norms, break down barriers, and inspire communities to create a more compassionate and just world. Her message is grounded in a simple but powerful belief: Love heals, and when we put love into action, lives and communities can be transformed.
Joining Rev. Becca will be the Rev. Yuri Rodriguez, Associate Chaplain at St. Augustine’s Episcopal Chapel at Vanderbilt University, and a group of Latina social entrepreneurs from Indianapolis who are bringing that same spirit of love and healing to our own community. Rev. Yuri was ordained to the Sacred Order of Priests in our diocese.
Together, they will introduce us to Tu Refugio Seguro, a new shelter dedicated to providing culturally and linguistically responsive care and support for Latina survivors of domestic violence.
Following worship, we invite everyone to a special Adult Forum featuring Rev. Becca, Rev. Yuri, and Irina Sorrells, CEO of Tu Refugio Seguro. They will share the vision behind this important ministry, the needs it seeks to address, and how we can become part of this work through compassion, partnership, and action.
This promises to be a meaningful Sunday of inspiration, connection, and discovering new ways to live out our call to love and serve our neighbors.
Please join us, invite a friend, and come ready to be inspired by what love can do!
