A Slice of Legacy: Bean Pie Awards Dinner

Honoring the hands that baked it, the people who carried it, and the legacy that continues.

The Muslim League of Voters and Good Deeds NJ invite you to A Slice of Legacy: Bean Pie Awards Dinner, a special evening celebrating the history, entrepreneurship, families, and community legacy surrounding one of African American Muslim culture's most recognizable foods: the bean pie.

For generations, bean pies have represented more than food. Bakers, distributors, families, entrepreneurs, and community institutions helped build a tradition that traveled from neighborhood to neighborhood and generation to generation.

A Slice of Legacy brings our community together to recognize those pioneers while creating space for today's bakers and entrepreneurs to carry the tradition forward.

The evening will feature:

• Legacy Bean Pie Championship
• People's Choice judging
• Bean pie bakers and vendors
• Dinner
• Community and cultural reflections
• Recognition of the people and families who helped preserve the legacy
• Opportunities to support the work of the Muslim League of Voters and Good Deeds NJ
