Mindy Seu is an artist and technologist based between New York City and Los Angeles. Her practice explores technology-driven performance, publishing, archives, and collective forms of reading.
Presented both as an artist book and a lecture-performance, A SEXUAL HISTORY OF THE INTERNET traces how sexuality and digital technology have shaped one another throughout the history of the internet.
Through archival research, artworks, anecdotes, and media archaeology, the project uncovers the “pervasive and perverted origins” of digital tools.
The performance unfolds directly on each audience member’s mobile device, synchronizing hundreds of voices into a polyvocal recitation.
