Description

Spend a lovely and delicious evening with Chef Tanya Holland, host of Tanya's Kitchen Table on the Oprah Winfrey Network and the podcast Tanya's Table. Chef Holland, well known for her inventive takes on both modern soul food and comfort classics, will present a menu filled with Southern influences. 

Weather permitting, our small group will enjoy a glass of wine and appetizers on our outdoor patio for a few casual moments with the Chef and then move into the Cooking School for a seated dinner.

Demonstrations will be limited. 

Her most recent cookbook, Tanya Holland's California Soul, A Culinary Journey West, will be available for sale. 

For ages 21 & up. Tickets are priced per person.

Chef Tanya Holland

Tayna Holland, award-winning chef, author, and restaurateur,  founded the famous and beloved Brown Sugar Kitchen restaurant in 2009 in Oakland, California. The restaurant received multiple Michelin Bib Gourmand Awards and was such an integral part of the community that she was honored when the city declared "Tanya Holland Day" on June 5, 2012. She has also been given the key to the city and, in 2013, was awarded California Chef & Restaurateur of the Year by The California Tourism Board.   

In addition to her most recent cookbook, and her many published articles, she is the author of The Brown Sugar Kitchen Cookbook and New Soul Cooking. As a chef, Ms. Holland has travelled extensively in pursuit of more experience and knowledge. She was appointed a Culinary Diplomat by the U.S. Foreign Service Department  and subsequently toured Kazakhstan and Mexico. She has taught classes in France for gastronomic travelers and has traveled with the GlobalSF delegation to discuss food system sustainability in the context of climate change to Singapore, Hong Kong, Sweden, and Denmark.
