About this Event
From Invisibility to Legacy
Join us at Metropolitan AME Church for a community screening of Gregory Cooke's critically acclaimed documentary, Invisible Warriors—African American Women in World War II. This film sheds light on the 600,000 Black women, known as the “Rosie the Riveters,” who played a crucial role in winning the war while facing racism and sexism at home. Through first-person testimony, these pioneers recount how they entered factories and government offices for the first time, reshaped the American workforce, and paved the way for future generations. Learn, reflect, and honor their courage—and consider how their example calls us to build more just workplaces and communities today. All are welcome. Bring a friend, a neighbor, or a young person who needs to hear this history.
