About the film: For nearly a century, Omaha’s Downtown was the city’s economic and cultural engine—until suburban expansion shifted the region toward car dependency. Today, Omaha is among the most car-centric cities in the country, with major consequences for safety, sustainability, and economic development.
Car-Centric examines how transportation and city planning shape Omaha’s future and what steps we can take toward a more vibrant, connected city. The discussion will touch on topics of daily life commuting and navigating the roads of Omaha, alternative modes of transportation and urban planning.
Meet the Panelists
Nate Johnson is the Director of Operations & Development at Keep Omaha Beautiful where he does desk job work to support the nonprofit’s environmental education, waste reduction, litter cleanup, and tree planting efforts.
