Rodrigo Fonti is a creative and innovative tango dancer and teacher from Argentina. He began dancing tango at 16 and later studied modern dance at the Experimental Contemporary Dance School. His unique style blends tango with contemporary dance, combining freshness, finesse, and depth.
Rodrigo’s teaching approach is organic, helping students discover their own personal dance style, encouraging them to connect deeply with their movement and fully immerse themselves in the music. His ongoing exploration of movement and the language of tango creates a distinctive fusion of traditional and modern styles.
“I perform, I teach, I choreograph, I dance at milongas. Because I love tango. I studied at the Experimental Contemporary Dance School in southern Argentina, then moved to Buenos Aires to breathe milongas. Now I travel the world, as a performer and instructor at tango festivals and as an artist in residence for longer durations in some cities…
Wherever I go, I give. People feel it and respond. Wherever I go, I teach. Not to dance like me, but to dance your tango, the best you can. My style and I are still growing, we both explore, create, innovate and share. The international tango journey has just started. There is so much tango still to come."
