A Return to Correspondence
About this Event
A Return to Correspondence is a talk and hands-on experience devoted to the art of the handwritten letter. In a world of constant texting and abbreviated exchanges, we're more connected than ever — yet an underlying disconnection remains. This gathering is an invitation to slow down and rediscover the beauty of the written word: what it means to write with attention and why receiving a letter still carries such emotional weight.
The experience is part talk, part hands-on practice with wax and seals — exploring museum-quality pieces by Kathryn Hastings as we discuss the symbolism of seal imagery, the meaning of color, and the simple pleasure of sealing a letter closed. Guests leave with a deeper appreciation for the written word, and a renewed sense of what it means to reach someone through paper rather than a screen.
Meg Daly is the creator of Letters From Wildwood, a monthly mail club delivered by post featuring inspiration, insight, and seasonal rituals.
