About Catherine Gammon:

Catherine Gammon is a fiction writer and Soto Zen priest. Her novel The Martyrs, The Lovers (March 2023) is the debut title for 55 Fathoms Publishing. Her story collection The Gunman and the Carnival is forthcoming in 2024 from Baobab Press. Catherine’s novel China Blue won the Bridge Eight Fiction Prize and was published by Bridge Eight Press in 2021. Her novel Sorrow, published by Braddock Avenue Books in 2013, was a finalist for the Northern California Book Award. Her novel Isabel Out of the Rain was published in 1991 by Mercury House, and her shorter fiction has appeared in literary journals for many years, Ploughshares, Iowa Review, Cincinnati Review, New England Review, Kenyon Review, Missouri Review, and many others among them. Catherine served on the faculty of the Master of Fine Arts program of the University of Pittsburgh before leaving the university to begin formal Zen training. She trained for twelve years in residence at San Francisco Zen Center, where in 2005 she was ordained a priest in the lineage of Shunryu Suzuki Roshi by Tenshin Reb Anderson Roshi. Since serving as Shuso in 2010 at SFZC’s Green Dragon Temple/Green Gulch Farm, Catherine has given teachings in Zen and writing in the U.K., in Brooklyn, in Pittsburgh, in Massachusetts, and at Green Gulch Farm. She lives again in Pittsburgh, with her garden and her cat.

About Jane McCafferty:

Jane McCafferty's collection of poems The Sea Lion Who Saved the Boy Who Jumped from the Golden Gate was published this past October by Saddleroad Press. She is also author of two novels (HarperCollins) and two books of stories (Drue Heinz winner, and HarperCollins.) Her work has received an NEA, two pushcarts, several pushcart honorable mentions, and other awards. Recent work has appeared in The Sun, Iowa Review, Crazy Horse, and The Common. She continues to write poetry, fiction, and essays, and teaches at Carnegie Mellon and for Madwomen in the Attic.

About Mike Good:

Mike Good's recent poetry and book reviews can be found in Bennington Review, Colorado Review, Five Points, The Greensboro Review, The Missouri Review, Ploughshares, Prolit, Puerto del Sol, Salamander, Terrain.org, Waxwing, Zyzzyva, and elsewhere. He has received scholarships from The Sun and the Sewanee Writers' Conference and serves as managing editor of Autumn House Press. He is at work on his first book.
