Choirs for Change is proud to present A Place to Dream, a concert experience with Polaris and featuring guest choir Northern Star Chorale.
The concert is a continuing exploration of Choirs for Change's season-long theme of displacement, and will aim to explore the impact of displacement on a local level. Partnering with local gospel choir the Northern Star Chorale, led by Shawn Downey, the programme will feature a selection of choral repertoire by Black composers. With texts by African-American poets Langston Hughes and Paul Laurence Dunbar, audiences will be moved by the visions of hope and perseverance the choirs share, and uplifted by the beauty of gospel music.
