A Place Between Mass & Echoes is a new, FREE outdoor roller-skating dance work created by Symoné with Inviktus, a collective of LGBTQIA+ and POC performers. Blending roller skating, hip hop, circus, Latin social dance and live DJing, the work moves between spectacle and intimacy.
Part love letter to skate culture and part meditation on the spaces where we gather, the performance explores how shared rhythm can become ritual, resistance and release. Against a backdrop of disappearing communal spaces and increasing social isolation, A Place Between Mass & Echoes celebrates the power of collective movement to hold us, transform us and remind us that we are not alone.
Inviktus is a rollerskating collective founded in 2024 by director and Guinness World Record-holding circus artist Symoné. Made up of seven experienced skaters from the global street skate community, the group combines choreographed routines with freestyle skating, drawing on influences from roller-skate jams, club style dances, and circus.
In between performances there will be music playing and an invitation for those with skates to join the floor!
