A Place At The Table 2022 returns at a new venue, The Goods Shed in Nolan Street. In the lead up to Wear it Purple Day, this year's theme is Bridging the Gaps; between the community and service providers, between policymakers and the people they serve, and between young and older LGBTIQA+ community members.
With inspired speeches from The Commissioner for LGBTIQA+ community, Todd Fernando and our patron Anne Tudor OAM (she/her), Victorian senior of the year; as well as a keynote address from Eideann (they/them) president of the Queer Collective at Australian Catholic University, we will hear stories of resilience and passion.
Join the LGBTIQA+ community and local organisations and policy makers in Ballarat for a 3 course long lunch. Returning this year to MC the event is Ballarat's own Lance DeBoyle LaNCE TV. The afternoon will be peppered with entertainment from accomplished pianist Akasha Temple and opera singer and cabaret performer Issie Hart.
This would not be possible without the funding of the state governments Pride and Festivals Fund, an initiative of the DFFH -Equality Branch. This event is proud to partner with organisations such as Tiny Pride, Cafs, Transgender Victoria, and ChillOut.
This event will also include a Welcome to Country from a local Wadawurrung elder and will be Auslan interpreted. It is a fully accessible event as we believe it is important for everyone to feel they have a place at the table!
