Anders Odden has been a central figure in Norwegian extreme metal since he founded Cadaver. Through a career spanning over forty years, which also includes periods in bands such as Satyricon, Celtic Frost, and Order, he has built extensive experience in the genre. He has followed the evolution from the early underground scene in his youth to becoming a recognized musician with significant international experience.
In 2026, he marks exactly 40 years since his encounter with Øystein Aarseth and Mayhem changed his life, pulling him into the epicentre of a musical revolution he continues to document and define.
In 2014 and 2015, he served as a lecturer for the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (UD), educating future diplomats and ambassadors on the significance of black metal as an expression of Norwegian identity.
As the creator and guide of the Black Metal Bus Sightseeing tour, Odden remains an unfiltered narrator, bridging the gap between Oslo’s dark historical scars and the global phenomenon he helped lay the foundation for.
