A PDX Career Story Workshop: A Guided Framework for What’s Next
In today’s job market, even highly accomplished professionals can struggle to explain what makes them distinctly valuable. Years of experience often translate into resumes full of responsibilities, but not a clear story that connects strengths, values, and impact in a way that resonates with decision-makers.
This in-person session is more than a mini workshop. It is a face-to-face, peer networking experience designed to bring together two alumni communities and knowledge workers in the Portland area for shared learning, diverse perspectives, and meaningful conversation.
Join executive career strategist and author Gina Riley, Intel alum and Portland community member turned Central Oregon resident, for a fast-paced, highly interactive session created for corporate alumni navigating job search, reinvention, or the question, “What’s next?”
In this 90-minute workshop followed by a guided 20-minute networking breakout, you will develop an early draft of your Unique Value Proposition. You will clarify what you do best, why it matters, and where your experience fits. Using a streamlined version of Gina’s UVP Scorecard™ framework from her book Qualified Isn’t Enough, you will complete guided exercises that will begin to help you articulate your strengths and relevant skills without relying on generic job search advice.
You will leave with:
- Three strengths that consistently show up in your best work
- A core value that influences your decisions
- Motivated skills that energize you, and burnout skills that drain you
- One concise anchor accomplishment to support your story
- Practice a first-draft conversation starter
We welcome members from both the Intel Alumni Network and the 6453 ALUMNI communities. The goal is to get out of familiar echo chambers, learn from peers with different experiences and industries, and practice career conversations in a supportive, real-world setting. You will leave with clearer language, new connections, and renewed confidence in how you talk about who you are and where you are headed.
