A 2008 óta évről évre jelentkező magyar népzenei gálán 2022-ben a táncházi zenekaroktól a világzenei produkciókig minden árnyalatnak jut hely az ünneplés során. Legendás és újabb előadók váltják egymást, akiknek munkássága azt is jelzi, hogy a városi életmódban sem szakad meg a népzenei hagyomány. Az Erdőfű, a Lakatos Mónika és a Cigány Hangok, a Zűrös Banda, a Napfonat, valamint a Parno Graszt és a Bohemian Betyars közös produkciója jelenti a főműsort, de ezúttal is lesz gyermekkoncert is.A 2022-es gálaműsorban nem minden előadó szólaltatja meg autentikus módon a népzenét, van, aki más műfajokba oltja, van, aki eredeti alkotások ihletőjeként használja, de a közös gyökerek az egész estre érvényesek, még úgy is, hogy számos nép és tájegység zenéje szólal meg. A kétrészes műsor első felét a táncházi zenét autentikusan játszó Erdőfű nyitja, műsorukban hitelesen szól a Kárpát-medence magyarlakta területeinek vonós népzenéje. Utánuk a WOMEX-életműdíjas Lakatos Mónika Cigány Hangok nevű együttesével oláh cigány örökzöldeket énekel, szorosan kötődve azok hagyományaihoz, a többszólamú éneklésre helyezve a hangsúlyt. Az első részt a Zűrös Banda zárja magyar és balkáni népzenék feldolgozásaival és saját szerzeményekkel. Majd az energikus Napfonat női a cappella együttes ütősökkel megtámogatva saját számokat, magyar és más kultúrák népdalait dolgozza fel, polifonikus hangzásba öltöztetve azokat. A főműsor végén a folk-rockos Bohemian Betyars és a világhírű, paszabi Parno Graszt közös formációja teremt garantált bulihangulatot. A gyermekkoncertet ezúttal a felvidéki Korpás Éva és zenekara adja.

Every year since 2008, Müpa Budapest's gala concert A Celebration of Folk Music has provided a festival of traditional Hungarian folk music. The 2022 event will feature everything from 'táncház' (dance house) bands to world music productions. There will be a succession of legendary and less-established performers, whose work tells us that even in the big city you don't lose the traditions of folk music. Erdőfű, Mónika Lakatos and the Gypsy Voices, Zűrös Banda, Napfonat, and a shared production from Parno Graszt and the Bohemian Betyars will make up the main show, though you can also look forward to a children's concert.
Not every performer in the 2022 gala show will play folk music in its original form. Some will combine it with other genres, others will use it as inspiration for original songs, though the shared roots will be the same throughout the evening, regardless of the fact that we will hear music from a wide array of different people and territories. The first half of the two-part concert will be opened by Erdőfű, who play authentic táncház music. Their show features authentic string folk music from the former Hungarian territories of the Carpathian Basin. They will be followed by the WOMEX Lifetime Achievement award winner Mónika Lakatos and her ensemble Gypsy Voices (Cigány Hangok), who will sing some classic Gypsy songs that are closely tied to their traditions, with emphasis on singing with multiple solo voices. The first half will be concluded by the group Zűrös Banda, who will perform covers of Hungarian and Balkan folk songs in addition to their own compositions. Then, backed by a rhythm section, the energetic female capella band Napfonat will rework their own songs and folk music from Hungarian and other cultures in a polyphonic sound. The main show will be completed by a group formed from the folk-rock Bohemian Betyars and the world famous Parno Graszt from the Hungarian town of Paszab, serving up a guaranteed party atmosphere. The children's concert will be performed by Éva Korpás and her band, who hail from Upper Hungary.
