Singer Ginny Owens will be in Tallahassee for concerts on September 16th & 17th, both start at 6:30 PM and end at 8:00. Friday night will be at Wesley Foundation (705 West Jefferson) and Saturday night will be at Killearn United Methodist (2800 Shamrock Street South). Free, with a love offering taken at the event. Singer/songwriter Ginny Owens is an award-winning Christian influencer who has spent two decades making music, writing books, teaching, and has just finished her Masters of Biblical Studies. Ginny, blind since the age of 3, has sung at the White House, the Sundance Film Festival, Lilith Fair and the National Day of Prayer in Washington, D.C. In 2000, she was named the Gospel Music Association’s New Artist of the Year, beginning an award-winning streak that also includes Inspirational Song of the Year and various songwriting awards. She has recorded more than ten albums, garnering critical success and chart-topping radio singles and streaming hits, such as “If You Want Me To,” “Free,” “Stand With Me” (feat. Resound), and “Echo.” Ginny has composed for such artists as Michael Card, Michael W. Smith, JJ Heller, and Rachael Lampa. And in May, 2021, Ginny released her first EP of modern hymns and praise songs, Sing Hope in the Darkness along with her first solo authored book, Singing in the Dark: Finding Hope in the Songs of Scripture. She hosts a video blog called “How I see it.”
Born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi, Ginny moved to Nashville, Tennessee to attend Belmont University, and made her home in Music City for many years. She now lives in New York City where she serves in worship and women’s ministries at Redeemer Presbyterian Church (Founder, Timothy Keller).
