A Night of Romantasy Fundraising Gala

The Redbud Writing Project, the Triangle's only creative writing organization for adults, will be holding their second-annual fundraising gala on Friday, Sept. 19 at The Loading Dock on Beryl Road in Raleigh. This fabulous event will be romantasy-themed! Romantasy, for the uninitiated, is a very popular genre these days that blends romance and fantasy (examples include Fourth Wing and A Court of Thrones and Roses). At the event, Redbud students will read fantasy and/or romance-inflected works; attendees will receive fun accessories like fairy hair and tiaras; we'll dance to music befitting a dramatic ballroom; and there will a throne for photo ops. We'll also have an auction with amazing prizes; catering from Spread NC AND MORE! Costumes are not required, but attendees can get outfit inspiration frrom this Pinterest board. Most importantly, this gala will be Redbud’s main fundraiser this year. It will support all operations for the end of 2025 and 2026, including our free courses for marginalized and under-represented populations. All proceeds from our ticket sales and from the auction will help Redbud continue to offer these high-quality, life-changing courses and continue to forge partnerships with nonprofits across the Triangle so that we can reach new populations. Tickets are available on a sliding scale from $50-$250. Guests can pick whichever price feels right for them.
