A Night of Dragons & Sky Serpents with Scott Reintgen & Marc J. Gregson

Come for a night of dragons and sky serpents, scrappy underdogs and high stakes, as we celebrate two of today’s best fantasy authors for tweens and teens and their new books! Scott Reintgen—you know him for one of our favorite series, The Last Dragon on Mars (ages 10-14)—is out with a new YA series starter, Devious Prey (ages 13+), about a teen trying to survive the crash landing of her airship before the deadly mythical creature she has smuggled aboard begins hunting her. With Downfall, Marc J. Gregson completes his critically-acclaimed post-apocalyptic Above the Black trilogy, which started with Sky’s End (ages 13+) and has been a huge hit with our customers owing to its boy protagonist, Hunger Games-like trials, accessible worldbuilding, and dangerous man-made beasts.

The conversation will be moderated by our bookseller (and mega fantasy fan) Kai, who will draw out tantalizing, behind-the-scenes details about the authors’ books, as well as the opportunities and challenges for writing for today’s increasingly picky teen audience. We’ll allow time for Q&A, followed by a signing line. The event is targeted at tweens and teens, but educators and writers are also encouraged to attend! 

Your ticket includes a signed hardcover copy of EITHER Devious Prey or Downfall. Additional copies of both authors’ current and past series will be available for purchase and personalization at the event.
