A Night of Culture, Courage, and Community Featuring Taste of Africa

Join us for a warm, community-centered evening celebrating culture, courage, and connection.
A Night of Culture, Courage, and Community introduces Light Impact Global Institute, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering women, girls, and young people in the United States and Africa through storytelling, leadership, education, and research.

The event features a Taste of Africa buffet with dishes from West, East, and Southern Africa. You will also enjoy cultural performance, music, and a keynote storytelling moment by Dr. Chibuzor Mirian Azubuike.

During the event, we will introduce two key initiatives:
• The Legal Support Fund for domestic violence survivors navigating family court
• The African Women Graduate Fellowship, supporting African women scholars pursuing advanced degrees in the U.S.

This evening is a celebration of resilience, hope, and community partnership.
All are welcome.

Enjoy a curated selection of dishes from across the continent, prepared by African women in our community. Expected menu includes:

• Nigerian Jollof rice
• Ghanaian Waakye
• East African samosas
• Suya-style grilled beef
• Fried plantains
• Zambian-style chicken curry (tentative)
• South African chakalaka
• Puff-puff
• Chin chin
• Coconut rice
• African tea and hibiscus drink (zobo)
