As seen on both Prime Video and IMDb, "A Night of Artistic Renewal" is a celebration of black excellence through artistry, aiming to unite and inspire by showcasing cultural appreciation and meaningful content. On Sunday April 28, 2024, the door to the newest edition of “A Night of Artistic Renewal” opens at 4pm; show starts promptly at 5:00pm and we ask that you be on time so that you may be immersed in the transformative power of SONG, DANCE, SPOKEN WORD, MUSIC and VISUAL ARTISTRY.
This exceptional event taking place at Booth Playhouse, is brought to you by Author Dionne D. Hunter and will be hosted by the always vivacious Laheelah Hunter. Due to a generous grant from the Arts and Science Council tickets are only $15 dollars for adults and children accompanied by a paying adult are FREE.

The evening showcases a diverse array of mesmerizing spoken word artists including, Emmy award winner Boris "Bluz" Rogers, Charlotte’s Inaugural Poet Laureate Junious "Jay" Ward, Aggie Poet Laureate Essence Connor-Barringer, the former Head of Poetry at the Raleigh Film Festival D.S. Will, and award-winning poet Linda Orji. Adding to the captivating experience, Dionne D Hunter will imprint an indelible mark on your heart with a powerful excerpt from her short story “I am a Dahomey Warrior!”
The artistry doesn’t end there; witness an awe-inspiring fusion of dance as Moving Spirits Inc., blends modern, ballet, and African dance into a breathtaking performance. Then marvel at the elegant Urban Ballroom choreography of Robert Wilson owner of "Dancing with Champagne" and his dance partner Tiffany Jaye.
Let the profound messages found within the music of multi-talented artists Mason Parker and Tawanna Hughes touch your soul as you are swept away by the talents of saxophonist Spunk Adams; all while being captivated by the visual artwork of Aisha Thomas. DJ Ron Styles will ensure that the energy never waivers.
We would be remiss if we did not acknowledge that our cinematographer Jarred Aaron Sims and photographer Dante Bland will document this extraordinary event.
