Enjoy a taste of Cuba in the heart of Leeds with our next ‘A Night In Havana’ party – an unmissable celebration of Cuban music, dance and culture.World-class live Cuban music, a salsa dance class with one of the UK’s top Cuban dance teachers, and our resident Cuban DJ playing the best Cuban music past and present (son, rumba, salsa, timba, Cubaton) – it all adds up to a fantastic taste of Havana without the 9-hour flight!
Start with a Cuban salsa dance class at 7.45pm with top teacher Yersin Rivas, open to experienced dancers and beginners alike – be sure to book a Standing ticket in the Stalls to take part.
Then the 15-piece Cuban dance explosion Timba Británica, led by master drummer Tristan Butler, takes to the stage playing intoxicating and intricate dance grooves and arrangements of modern Cuban salsa and timba music. They launched the A Night In Havana series in August 2024 with special guest vocalist Mayito Rivera from Cuban music legends Los Van Van. They return a year later with another big Cuban guest vocalist, this time Dayan Carrera Fernandez, lead singer of Cuban salsa/timba legends Pupy Y Los Que Son Son for 11 years!
After they finish their set, DJ Yersin takes the party to closing time.
