About this Event
Lecture & Lunch $48
Join mother-daughter team Lisa Stamm Booher and Vanessa Booher Parsons as they detail their approach to rethinking the newly renamed Sue B. Hart Perennial garden in Elizabeth Park, what steps they took to achieve the new look, and their inspiration then and now. Lisa and Vanessa will address challenges, changes, and surprises that they faced along the way, and their visions of the future of the garden as it naturalizes and matures.
Lisa Stamm Booher has been designing gardens for nearly 50 years, first in New York City, and for the last 40 years on the east end of Long Island. She founded The Homestead Garden & Design with her late husband, Dale Booher. She expresses her unique perspective and vision through gardens exhibiting structure, texture, and compelling plant selection.
Vanessa Booher Parsons is the daughter of Lisa and Dale and has been a partner at the Homestead for seven years. She has designed and installed gardens showcasing the diversity and dynamism of plants native to the East Coast of the US. She embraces a natural looking, low maintenance style garden that helps strengthen local ecosystems, while exhibiting multi-season interest.
