Alex Lemski founded the Creative Music Series in 2015, and was its artistic director until his death in December of 2025. He was a true friend of the music and the musicians, presenting over a hundred concerts in the Boston area. Join us as we lift up his memory in sound with this musical offering.
From 2 to 4pm: Celebration of Life, with words and images offered by family and friends. A chance to socialize and swap stories about Alex. Then at 4pm the music begins.
4pm: Fully Celebrated Orchestra: Jim Hobbs (alto saxophone), Ian Ayers (guitar), Timo Shanko (bass), Luther Gray (drums).
5pm: Hocha Langra: Steve Lantner (piano), Allan Chase (saxophones), Luther Gray (drums), with special guest Jim Hobbs (alto saxophone).
6pm: Pandelis Karayorgis (solo piano)
7pm: The Ellwood Epps Quartet: Ellwood Epps (trumpet, trombone), Forbes Graham (trumpet), Nate McBride (bass), Luther Gray (drums) with special guest Stephen Haynes (trumpet).
8pm: New Language Collaborative:Glynis Lomon (cello, voice, aquasonic), Vance Provey (trumpet), Eric Zinman (piano, synthesizer), Eric Rosenthal (drums).
9pm: Isao (guitar), Scott Samenfeld (bass), Kelly Bray (trumpet), Brittany Karlson (bass), Lemuel Marc (trumpet).
10pm: Jorrit Dijkstra’s Blink: Jorrit Dijkstra (alto saxophone), Nate McBride (bass guitar), Eric Rosenthal (drums and percussion), Eric Hofbauer (guitar), Gabe Boyarin (guitar).
$25 pass, $10 for one set.
Tickets available at the door.
No charge to attend the Celebration of Life from 2-4pm.
