Part of the UF School of Architecture Fall 2025 Lecture Series and co-sponsored by the Architecture Archives in the George A. Smathers Libraries. Guest lecturer Robert McCarter is the Ruth and Norman Moore Professor of Architecture at Washington University in St. Louis and is a former director of the UF School of Architecture. The topic of his lecture will be architect Robert Ernest, whose papers are preserved in the Architecture Archives. McCarter has published a recent book with the same title as the lecture. From the synopsis of the book: Robert Ernest was an architect of rare promise and remarkable early success, whose award-winning career was cut short by cancer at age 28 in 1962. Despite the brevity of Ernest’s life, his education and practice were intertwined with some of the most important figures in architecture, including his interactions with Louis I. Kahn and Paul Rudolph.Little Hall 0101
