Karen’s family & friends will gather to honor the life of our beloved Virgo queen, during her birthday month, one year after her passing.

Karen Gail Estrada Gruber Standifer Polacheck
September 10, 1947 — August 26, 2023
Karen is mourned by her loving husband of 33 years, David, her children Ian (and partner Amy) and Angel, grandchildren Connie and Shaley, and by her many, many friends and relations including all the scores of people she helped and mentored over her lifetime.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Christine, and her parents, Consuelo Estrada and Frank Gruber.
In addition to being a Master Social Worker Karen was a skilled potter, painter, graphic artist, singer, guitarist and fiddle player. Most of all, she radiated an unconditional, sacrificial love to all she encountered along the way.
For those who cannot make the memorial in person, we welcome you to share your favorite memories and messages about Karen here, so that she may be remembered and honored!
