The Deep Limitless Air: A Memoir in Pieces is a beautiful, funny, warm, and heartbreaking book. In this tour-de-force collection of interconnected personal essays, written with startling simplicity and perfectly observed detail, Allen reflects on past loves, friends, life with and without family; on meditation, obsession, and insomnia; and on the humans and animals, spiritual questions and personal dilemmas. Written in a voice both humorous and perceptive, with earned wisdom and light-handed spirituality, Allen’s essays are easily relatable. "The Deep Limitless Air tells a life of successive revelation, evolving wisdom. Mary Allen’s prose has the freshness of the most optimistic morning. I adore this book.”—Honor Moore, author of Our Revolution, A Mother and Daughter at Midcentury

Appearances can be deceiving and in There Will Be Lobster: Memoir of a Midlife Crisis Sara Arnell shows us the other side of her seemingly picture-perfect life. You meet an acclaimed and successful woman who unexpectedly finds herself in the middle of a messy midlife crisis – one she never thought would happen to her. She struggles with family, faith and an uncertain future, all while careening from one misdirected effort and self-defeating escapade to the next. No one is there to help her, because no one knew she was so out of control. After all, thirty years in advertising taught Sara how to show people only what she wanted them to see. It took an eighteen-pound tumor, a dying rock star, a famous medium, a meditation guru, a former Buddhist monk and a cancer diagnosis to help her reconnect with a healthy version of herself.
