About this Event
Join us for a sacred and immersive Mayan New Year Celebration, where we honor the traditions of the ancient Mayans and Mesoamericans to welcome 2025 with clarity, intention, and heart-centered connection. In a time when the world moves faster than ever, these ancient tools and practices offer profound healing by helping us reconnect to ourselves, the Earth, and the wisdom of the cosmos. Through ceremony, song, and intention, we align with the natural rhythms of life, releasing what no longer serves us and planting seeds for a thriving, balanced future.
🏺 What to Expect 🏺:
𓆃 Ancient Copal Medicine: A cleansing ceremony (limpia) using the sacred smoke of copal to purify our energetic and physical bodies, creating a clean slate for 2025.
𓆃 Healing Medicine Songs: Connect with Mother Earth, our spirit guides, and animal allies through sacred songs that resonate with ancient wisdom.
𓆃 Reflection & Journaling: Take time to release what no longer serves you from 2024 and cultivate gratitude for the lessons learned.
𓆃 Intention Planting for 2025: Set powerful, heartfelt intentions for the upcoming year, guided by ancestral practices.
𓆃 Altar Building: Contribute to a collective altar by bringing meaningful items (crystals, flowers, photos, etc.) to amplify the sacred space.
𓆃 Sound Journey: A transformative sound healing experience to access the spirit realm, awaken intuition, and ground in the wisdom of the Earth.
𓆃 And More: A gathering filled with community, ceremony, and heart-centered practices to align with the cycles of nature.
This is an opportunity to reflect, reset, and realign with your inner and outer worlds in preparation for the year ahead.
Please bring: a journal, pen, water, and an item for the altar.
Let us celebrate, honor our roots, and set intentions for a vibrant and abundant 2025.
About Maryzelle:
Maryzelle is a San Francisco-born Salvadoran-American sound healer and musician who channels her ancestry as medicine. Deeply connected to the rhythms and traditions of her Salvadoran roots, she blends cultural wisdom with the transformative power of sound to create healing experiences that align, cleanse, and restore.
Maryzelle’s love for drumming led her to tour nationally as a musician and recieve BA in Music from Mills College and a 200 HR Yoga Teacher Certification. She bridges ancestral practices with modern sound healing.
In addition to her sound work, Maryzelle honors her heritage by hosting cacao ceremonies—sacred gatherings that activate the heart and deepen connection to self and others, blending the medicine of cacao with sound for a truly transformative experience.
Using instruments like gongs, crystal bowls, shamanic drums, and her voice, Maryzelle weaves soundscapes that touch the soul. She has shared her healing work with UCSF, UC Berkeley, Stanford, SF City Hall, veterans, and more. As the resident sound healer at The Center SF, SF Dharma Collective, and Yoga Society of SF, Maryzelle holds sacred spaces for deep transformation, honoring her roots as a source of medicine and healing for all.
