The first Christmas without a loved one, the return of a painful anniversary, or the quiet ache of anticipatory grief can make this season feel tender and complex.In these times, our hearts may long for a place to bring our laments before the Lord and to find comfort within the Body of Christ.
The Longest Night Service, held on the longest night of the year—December 21st—offers that sacred space. It is a service of lament, grief, and hope, where we gather to pray and be prayed over, to hear the Word proclaimed, and to receive the Eucharist.
Together, we worship the God who records every tear and meets us in our sorrow.
