Join us in celebrating Dr. Paul-Elliott Cobbs, the Music Director of TYSA and conductor of the Tacoma Youth Symphony since 1997. Our beloved maestro is retiring from the Tacoma Youth Symphony Association and will bid a warm farewell on May 18. The concert will feature Dr. Cobbs’ lifelong friends Carrie Rehkopf and John Michel in Johannes Brahms’ Double Concerto for Violin and Cello. The concert will open energetically with William Walton’s Spitfire Prelude and Fugue and will conclude with Giuseppe Verdi’s La forza del destino Overture. Student soloist Caleb Brumfield will perform the Hoffmeister Viola Concerto in D Major and student soloist Alia Uffenorde will perform the Bruch Violin Concerto.
