A Kaleidoscope of Love Songs

FEATURING:
Jazmin DeRice, mezzo soprano
Aaron Engebreth, baritone
Anastasia Antonacos, piano
Composer Hugo Wolf wrote colorful and imaginative settings of these poems from Italy in the late Romantic era. Love songs from beginning to end, yes – but also contained in these pages are songs of jealousy, songs of lifelong dedication, songs of power struggles, unequal gender roles, unrequited love, difficult in-laws, and so much more. Come for the conversational quality, leave with a sense that humans have shared similar feelings and struggles for centuries. Best of all, watch mezzo-soprano Jazmin DeRice and baritone Aaron Engebreth make it all come alive on stage.
