SHARE THE MAGIC OF BOOKS THIS HOLIDAY SEASONJólabókaflóð is an Icelandic tradition originating from WWII during which paper was one of the few goods that were not rationed, making books one of the most accessible gifts of the season. Pronounced “Yo-la-bok-a-flot,” this tradition roughly means “flood of books.” People would exchange books on Christmas Eve and read, sipping on hot chocolate and mulled wine, through the evening. Now a treasured national tradition, we're bringing the comfort of this holiday celebration to Augusta, Georgia.
Join us on Tuesday, December 23rd from 6PM-9PM for a cozy, silent book club filled to the brim with hot chocolate, mulled wine, mystery books, and a very important cause. Proceeds from your ticket purchase will directly benefit our RISE Augusta Book Drive-- gifting the magic of books to children this holiday season.
