Ulrika and I have faced pivotal career moments that tested our ability to adapt and remain optimistic in difficult situations. From being in the spotlight as General Manager in a global corporate company, I lost my Brand Manager role during the financial crisis of 2009. This was shortly after I had successfully transitioned from an Associate Professor to the corporate setting, a transition that had caused me significant worries and stress and even made me ill. Over the years, I have learned that resilience is about surviving and thriving through change. But it is easier said than done.

Ulrika, with her extensive experience as a company owner, Operational Manager in the fitness industry, and ICF-certified coach, has faced her own battles—from negotiating her departure while still working as a full-time coach in a start-up company, leaving Sweden for an exciting adventure as a hotel manager in the alps in France to discover nothing was as she had expected and to managing a company during uncertain times. She has relocated between New Zealand, the UK, and Sweden multiple times. Her journey has taught her many lessons, which she is excited to share with you in this unique Fireside Chat.

Ulrika and I have many things in common: we are both optimistic, analytical, and always seeking answers to better understand ourselves and our surroundings. We met when Ulrika was my manager at a fitness center, and I was one of her instructors. We have both lived abroad and are familiar with various cultures.
