A Step 1 Intimate Afro Education Experience

Education with the whole being at heart. This curriculum not only teaches technique but also honors the natural artistry within those who share these skills.

This course is designed to introduce you to the Step 1 methodology for working with afro-textured hair. Whether melding, molding, stretching, chemically treating, sculpting, or styling, this approach is crafted for the unique beauty of 4a, 4b, and 4c textures.

In addition to the core course, you' ll have 4 weeks of private, 1-hour clarity coaching sessions and gentle guidance to help you feel grounded and confident in your journey.

What to Expect

1. Begin with Intention

We will open the day with a Hairdresser Meditation and Movement Practice, designed to center your mind, body, and spirit. This grounding practice helps you connect to the craft, fostering mindfulness, physical alignment, and creativity. Its a chance to honor not only the hair but the sacred role you play as a stylist.

2. Look-and-Learn

Dive into a detailed demonstration of techniques tailored for curls, coils, and afros. You will learn foundational approaches as well as advanced styling methods, gaining insight into the unique properties of Afro-textured hair. its elasticity, density, and ability to hold structure.

Topics include:

Proper hydration and product layering.

Sectioning and tension management for precision.

Styling techniques that enhance the natural pattern.

This session will include open dialogue to ask questions and explore real-life challenges and solutions in working with this hair type.

3. Hands-On Practice

Bring your learning to life with hands-on experience using a professional mannequin (provided for you). Guided by an expert.

Styling techniques for versatile looks, from natural to defined.
