A House Built by Community | DUENOLA Fundraiser
About this Event
A House Built by Community is an invitation to pause and be present in the moment, while helping to create a place of healing for New Orleans families. Over food and champagne, guests will contribute to a collective work of art that will live inside DUENOLA’s Postpartum Healing House and serve as a lasting reminder that safe, nurturing spaces are built when a community chooses to care together.
DUENOLA provides safe postpartum housing and comprehensive perinatal support for low- to moderate-income families. Through transitional housing, doula care, lactation and parenting education, case management, and essential resources, we help parents and infants rest, recover, bond, and move toward long-term stability.
In 2023, 392 Louisiana babies never saw their first birthday, and 1 in 3 mothers reported not being able to pay for housing and basic needs in that first year. A House Built by Community will bring us together around the future we intend to create: one where birthing people are supported, babies have the opportunity to thrive, and families are not left to navigate the postpartum period alone.
