Join local historian and author James Colello Jr. as he presents "Let's Go to the White City" - offering never-before-seen glimpses into this beloved amusement park that created wonderful memories for young and old alike at the beginning of the 20th century.
What to Expect:
🕐 1-2 PM: Historical presentation about the park dubbed "The Coney Island of New Jersey," located in what is now the Spring Lake area of Roebling Park in the Abbott Marshlands.
🚶♀️ 2-3 PM: Optional guided walk to where the amusement park once stood, featuring the remains of the original ornate concrete staircase! (About 1 mile total on mostly flat trail with one moderate slope)
This is a unique opportunity to learn about a piece of local history that brought joy to countless families over two decades. Discover the stories, the attractions, and the legacy of this remarkable place that once thrilled visitors in our community.
