A Group of Guys is back and ready to rock your socks off with classic pop and rock tunes from the 60s, 70s, and 80s! We are celebrating the one year anniversary of Bright Lights Concerts and can't wait to party with you in celebration of these outstanding musicians and our tenth concert! Their music is guaranteed to have you dancing in your chair or on your feet!
And just who are A GROUP OF GUYS?
Vancouver's Tom Arntzen is a talented keyboardist and vocalist, composer, arranger, producer, actor...who can play any style of music. He worked with Michael Buble, the VSO Pops, Jack Jones, Dave Pierce, twice served as music director for the Grey Cup gala, was featured in the Showtime movie Reefer Madness and was vocal coach to Will Ferrell in the movie "Elf," among many other projects. He also served as music director for the popular Island Soul Choir that performed at the Port Theatre last year.
Guitarist G. Lee Worden is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist with over 4 decades of professional touring and studio experience, including lead guitarist for the legendary Ian Tyson, and while living in Nashville, sideman for numerous artists such as Sue Medley and Mike Reno. Former member of Nick Gilder and Sweeney Todd, Lee fronted "The Great Wide Open" with Mike Norman and Chris Aiken and is one third of The Gords alongside Gord Matthews and Gord Maxwell. He now regularly plays on the island in various projects, including a Police tribute band who recently performed at the Port Theatre.
Jay Stevens is a Guitarist/Bassist/Vocalist/Music Educator/composer and professional sideman. Jay is an Endorser of Godin Guitars and had been playing their fine instruments since 1993, becoming a Godin Artist in 2001. Jay spent 15 years touring and recording with David Gogo, during which 4 albums were Juno nominated. He appears on 6 of David Gogo's albums. Jay is proficient in many different genres of music and has played with country, rock, blues, folk, metal, punk, funk, disco, rockabilly and progressive instrumental bands. He is currently lead of the popular band Jay Stevens and The Chosen Ones.
Thomas DeSchutter has been playing drums for over 40 years, was winner of Drum Wars in 1991 and voted Vancouver's Best Drummer in 1993. After a 14 year career as a touring and recording musician in various original rock bands, Thomas now plays drums for love and fun. Thomas plays multiple genres, to include, rock, pop, reggae, jazz, and swing. He currently plays drums with the fantastic Vancouver Island swing band Mood Swings at multiple events throughout the year.
