In conjunction with our series of special programs commemorating the 70th anniversary of Buckminster Fuller's geodesic dome patent, Los Angeles based Ceremoni Sounds invites you to explore the unique acoustic properties of The Center for Spirituality and Sustainability’s Fuller Dome for an immersive and transformative sound bath experience. Aligning with Fuller's holistic worldview, this event integrates the principles of whole health and sound healing practices.Featuring an array of instruments from around the world, including Nepalese tingsha bells, Himalayan singing bowls, Japanese chimes, Native American rattles, and chakra-tuned quartz crystal bowls, the sound bath, aptly named for permeating participants in harmonic sound waves, will facilitate a journey inward and help center our thoughts and emotions, creating a space of tranquility and introspection. We will also intentionally radiate love outward, envisioning a world imbued with peace, care, compassion, and understanding—a future our ancestors dreamed of and a legacy for generations to come.
Participants will practice conscious breathing and contribute to a ceremonial altar, connecting with each other, the earth and the cosmos. This collective healing ritual will include personal reflection and integration through spoken or written practices. Attendees are encouraged to bring natural elements, meaningful objects, written dreams, or family photos as altar offerings for the duration of the ceremony.
As Fuller described, "One goes inside to go outside oneself and into the center of the Earth and thence outward to the stars in seconds. The Edwardsville Center becomes at once a cathedral of universal reality and a cathedral of universal mystery." Join us for this remarkable event and embark on a journey of inner and outer exploration!
Please bring your own yoga mat, blanket, pillow, and eye covering (optional). Dress comfortably and bring some water to drink. It's preferable not to eat for an hour prior. Register early to secure your space!
For parking, look for Lot B on the SIUE campus.Tickets will not be available at the door. Please register in advance to reserve your spot.
