A FAMILY CONCERT CELEBRATING THE SOUTH ASIAN COMMUNITY IN EDMONTONThe Concordia Symphony Orchestra joins Vancouver-based sitarist and composer Mohamed Assani in his work Scheherazade for sitar and orchestra.
The ensemble once again unites Eastern and Western music traditions, this time in an exploration of the five elements of Nature: Earth, Water, Fire, Air & Space.
Assani will perform in a sitar & tabla duo followed by traditional Indian dance and singing. Orchestral works include Ravel's Alborada del gracioso, Stravinsky's “Infernal Dance of King Kashchey” from The Firebird Suite, Smetana’s Moldau, and Márquez’s Danzón No. 2.

Tickets: $10 (Child 0-4), $15 (students and seniors) $20 (adults) plus applicable taxes and online fees from the Edmonton Arts Council Shops & Services.
