A Fool's Journey: the Spirit of Clown with Danny daVoid

It's a clownspiracy, a clowntastrophy, a clownpocalypse! The clowns have taken over the asylum and they are here to stay. YOU are cordially invited to practice anarchic calisthenics and join a gaggle of fools for a co-created happening of shared ritual, mischief, magic and transformation!

During this 3-hour workshop, we will blend elements of tarot, somatics, breathwork, visualisation, theatre games, and clown to free ourselves from the tyranny of seriousness. Creating an emergent space held within the safety of community, we will invite the spirit of the clown, fool, and trickster to reside and play with us.

During the first hour, we will drop into the space with breathwork, movement and engagement of our emotional bodies. We will then use improvised games to develop our clown personas and laughter muscles. The workshop will culminate in opportunities to perform for one another (both individually and in groups) while receiving coaching, guidance, and encouragement.

This workshop is designed for fools just starting their journey and fools well-travelled. 

Please bring:

1. An item representing the spirit of play for a shared altar

2. Clothes and props that bring you joy and that can be shared with fellow fools throughout the journey of the workshop.

Danny daVoid (they/them) is a retired psychonaut and former monk graced in the practices of Karma Yoga and Bhakti Yoga. Danny was initiated into clown by the great troop of tricksters Divine Ridiculous.They play with the tarot as a pantheon of spirits and are frequently humbled by their own shadow. Originally from the UK, Danny now resides in Berlin being naughty, exploring Gnostic theater, making masks, and rollerskating around Tempelhofer Feld.
