A message from Molly:
Dear Alliance for the Arts Family and Fort Myers Community,
It is with a full heart and deep gratitude that I share the news of my upcoming departure as Executive Director/CEO of the Alliance for the Arts. Over the past few years, it has been the greatest privilege to lead this extraordinary organization and be part of such a passionate, creative, and vibrant community. Although this decision was not easy, I am excited to announce that I will be taking on a new role as CEO of Marquee Arts in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Looking back on my time here, I am immensely proud of what we’ve achieved together. From overcoming the intense challenges of global pandemic, a devastating Hurricane and the abrupt cut of all arts funding. We have proven our resilience. We have done amazing work reimagining our spaces from creating the Bloom & Wallace Digital Arts Lab, launching the region’s first Art House Cinema, and ensuring that everyone has access to the arts. We have expanded the Alliance’s reach in ways I could have only dreamed. I have been incredibly proud to lead the team at the Alliance, they are a stellar group of professionals that have made the Alliance come alive!
When I first arrived in Fort Myers, I was a stranger, but this incredible community welcomed me with open arms. The warmth, support, and passion I have felt from all of you have fueled every step of my journey here. Fort Myers gave me the biggest hug, and for that, I will always be thankful. You have become my home and my heart.
While I will be leaving in December, I am not saying goodbye just yet! I would love the opportunity to thank each of you in person and celebrate all we’ve accomplished together. Please join me at the Farewell to Molly event on Friday, December 6th, from 5-7pm at the Opening Reception of the Off the Wall Exhibition at the Alliance for the Arts. It will be a special evening filled with art, memories, and heartfelt goodbyes.
I will remain with the Alliance through the first week of December to ensure a smooth transition, and I will continue to support the organization as an advisor during the next few months. I am confident the Alliance will continue to thrive in this next chapter, and I will always cheer for its success.
Thank you for being part of this incredible journey. Fort Myers, you will always hold a special place in my heart, and I look forward to seeing you on December 6th to celebrate this amazing community.
