A Feast of Folk
With Ian F Ball and Friends
A Concert in support of Uppermill Methodist Church Building Fund
Come and join multi-instrumentalist Ian F Ball and a friend or two for an evening of folk music from the British Isles, spanning three centuries.
With music and songs to take you on a journey from the 18th century asylums of London and Oldham Parish Church, through Derbyshire and Cornwall, the rolling corn fields of rural England to the present day, there will be something for everyone.
There will also be a performance of ‘The Great Derbyshire Lead Rush’. Based upon the BBC TV series from the 1970s, ‘Ballad of the Northwest’, with songs and anecdotes it tells the story of the rise and fall of the Derbyshire Lead mining industry.
Ian is an accomplished guitarist, melodeon player, blues harmonica player, singer and actor, based in Oldham near Manchester in the UK. His music is played far and wide and has been recorded by bands and musicians on both sides of the Atlantic.
“Excellent story telling” Ken Nicol – Steeleye Span.
