“Grace Will Lead Me Home”: A Farewell Concert by Abby Chen7 p.m. • Monday, October 27, 2025 • St. Andrew Presbyterian Church
For one of her final performances as St. Andrew’s organist, Yu-Hsiang Abby Chen takes her place at the Krapf Organ to offer a musical benediction at the close of her three-year ministry among us. This farewell concert traces a journey of grace—through struggle and joy, through beloved hymns and timeless masterworks—reflecting the promise that God’s grace continues to guide us home. The program features music by Mendelssohn, Bach, Sowande, Locklair, Vierne, and Widor, including Bach’s Toccata in d minor and Widor’s Toccata, each reimagined through improvisation on well-loved hymns. Along the way, the congregation will be invited to sing, adding voices to the music as we give thanks for Abby’s gifts, the beauty of the Krapf organ, and the friendships formed during her time in Iowa City.
