Since their formation in 2007, chamber orchestra A Far Cry has had an outsize impact on the classical music scene. How have they done this? Youthful energy, the highest level of vibrant musicianship, creative programming and the ability to connect directly with audiences. A true musical collective, instead of one artistic director, the “Criers” curate and submit program ideas inspired by individual curiosities, the greater musical community, and what is happening in the world at large. For us, they will perform a glorious program including the chamber versions of Copeland’s Appalachian Spring and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6, Pastorale.
