A Different Thread is a transatlantic duo weaving Old World folk traditions with contemporary Americana storytelling, led by Alicia Best from North Carolina and UK-born Robert Jackson. Formed busking in Ireland and shaped by years on the road, their harmony-driven songs carry bittersweet nostalgia, community healing, and an underlying sense of hope.
joy burklund (she/her) is a songstress, guitarist, vocalist, and diva living on unceded land of the Lenni-Lenape people (Philadelphia). She's been performing with her band since 2023, and their first record "Songbouquet" was released in Spring 2025.
Leonora Tomlinson is a folky lefty from San Marcos Texas, based in Philly. Her acoustic-driven, storytelling style incorporates traditional roots influences with contemporary folk elements. She has also collaborated with and contributed to broader rock and experimental projects
