A Different Man (2024) - Film Screening

This screening is part of our series of Sunday afternoon immersive film screenings by the Cultural Center’s Hi-Desert Film Institute at the Blak Box Theater in Joshua Tree, CA. Doors (and bar) open at 3:30pm with a brief film discussion followed by the screening. This film is rated R for some sex, nudity, and language.

Summary: Edward, an aspiring actor with a facial deformity, undergoes a radical medical procedure to transform his appearance and achieve the handsome face he's always dreamed of. But his new visage quickly turns into a nightmare when it causes him to lose a role he was born to play.

Sebastian Stan (The Apprentice) and Adam Pearson (Under The Skin) star in this new drama written and directed by Aaron Schimberg. Also featuring Renate Reinsve (The Worst Person in the World), A Different Man is an acting tour-de-force. Stan won this year's Golden Globe for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture for his performance. With incredible cinematography by Wyatt Garfield (The Kitchen), a perfectly reflective score by Umberto Smerilli (The Buker Game), and insane make-up by Mike Marino (The Batman), this film is not to be missed.
